GAME TESTER
About the job
Games for the Antix Game Player need to be tested to check conformance with AGP APIs prior to release to the Antix Game Warehouse for access by Game Distributors.
The role requires:
- game performance checking and quality validation across multiple devices
- problem/bug reporting and follow up using internal reporting and bug tracking systems
- detecting and reporting any localisation issues
- following test procedures and recommending new procedures to improve quality
- performing other tasks on an ad-hoc basis as and when required
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Verification based in Reading. It is therefore expected that regular trips to Reading will be required to report and review progress. A working relationship with external games developers will be encouraged, especially those based in the North East.
About the candidate
We are looking for a tenacious and flexible individual who as a consumer is excited by new technologies and has a desire to make an impact in a fast growing industry.
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- experience of testing games and a genuine interest in the gaming industry probably underpinned by a passion for playing games
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- a well organized and self motivated approach to work
- a degree or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential) in an appropriate subject
- experience of using perl/python/bash script
